Flobots are a rap/rock/alt-hip hop group from Denver. OH SHIT! No, this ain’t Limp Bizkit, so quit your bitching.
You can think of these guys as a less-heavy Rage Against The Machine or a Beastie Boys without the samples. They’ve got the rock but it’s supplied by real instruments, like guitars, bass, drums- HOT DAMN! (You could also imagine The Knux with white guys rather than black guys).
Like RATM, their lyrics are political. For example, check out their song “Same Thing,” one of my favorites of theirs.
Their song you probably recognize most is “Handlebars.” It starts off with I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars, no handlebars. It’s got trumpet playing, as well- these guys are all over the place.
Their second studio album and major-label debut Fight With Tools was re-released in May of ‘08; you can pick up the CD at Amazon or download it for the low price of 7.99. It’s also in the Zune Marketplace.
