Melvins – Matt-Alec

Matt-Alec (Click and Save!)

This track is one of the first Melvins songs to ever be recorded. Read more about the band here.

At this time the band consisted of Buzz Osborne, Mike Dillard, and Matt Lukin. Shortly after this demo was made, Dillard left the band and was replaced by Dale Crover (who went to High School with Buzz and played drums in Kurt Cobain’s band Fecal Matter). Matt Lukin eventually left the band to join fellow Seattle rockers Mudhoney, and was replaced by Lori Black (daughter of Shirley Temple) after Melvins moved from Seattle down to San Francisco.

This album is a collection of semi-pro and basement tape recordings from the bands earliest days in 1983. This is a must have for any die-hard Melvins fan.

You can pick up the album in the Marketplace.
